Together they go on many adventures in order to save the world from Gaea, the Earth Mother goddess who wants to destroy everything so that she can create a new world for herself.
After facing many monsters and many other obstacles, Percy, Hazel and Frank finally arrive at Mount Olympus where they and her army.
Later on in the book, Percy meets a god named Apollo who is stuck with him for two weeks and he is very annoying.
They go to help out Bianca di Angelo because she was kidnapped by Gaea but when they get there they realize that it was a trap by Gaea herself.
The main reason is that she needed a new “Olympian” which is a god/goddess from the old times when the gods and the titans were fighting each other.
Apollo was chosen because his mother, Leto, is the only immortal of her three children.
Together they fight off Gaea and save Bianca di Angelo but Apollo sacrifices himself for his sister by giving up his immortality to Gaea so she can’t attack them ever again.
This book had many great adventures that I would definitely read again. I really liked it and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Greek Mythology!
