University of Chittagong

Chittagong University (CU for short) is a government multi-faculty research university located in Chittagong, Bangladesh. It was established in 1986 in Hathazari Upazila of Chittagong district.

It is the third-largest university in the country in terms of campus size. As of 2019, the university has about 26,500 students and 72 teachers.

Before the independence of Bangladesh, this university became the center of the progressive and democratic movement in then East Pakistan.

At that time the teachers and students of the university played a central role in the rise of Bengali nationalism and the independence of Bangladesh.

At present, there are 21 educational institutions under Chittagong University. Located in the hilly area of Chittagong, the university is a source of natural beauty. Here is the largest university library in Chittagong.

Many notable alumni have taught and taught at this university, including one Nobel laureate and several Ekushey Medal winners. As of 2020, the university ranks 9th in the country and 3101st globally.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology

It is located at Raozan police station, 25 km from Chittagong city. Its former name was Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Chittagong, and before that Chittagong Engineering College.

About four and a half thousand students study engineering, architecture, urban planning and science at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

University of Dhaka

The University of Dhaka is a public university in Bangladesh. It was founded in 1828 and is the oldest university in Bangladesh.

Some new buildings have been constructed for the expansion of the university premises such as academic building, auditorium complex, dormitory, library, teacher dormitory building, etc. and some more buildings are under construction.

The university campus is 14 km from Khulna city. It is located at Phulbarigate on the north side of Khulna-Jessore highway.

Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology

Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (abbreviation: RUET) is one of the leading engineering education institutes in Bangladesh.

It is the second oldest engineering university in Bangladesh and the only one in the north.

It is one of the 5 prestigious and specialized engineering universities in Bangladesh. One of the leading Ph.D. institutes in Bangladesh.

Like other public universities, RUET’s admission test is considered to be very competitive.

Approximately 12,000 students participate in the admission test every year based on the results of the Higher Secondary Examination.

Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology

Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology is a university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was founded in 1982 as the country’s first public engineering university.
